Hi, my name is 雯Wén (Chloe). I’m a native Chinese speaker, and I’ve been teaching Chinese since 2009. I began my teaching journey in Beijing, and what started as a childhood dream has now become a path I’ve walked for more than 15 years.
Over the years, I’ve taught many students from different backgrounds — in offline classrooms and later in the online world. Each student has reminded me that there is no single way to learn a language, and that every learner brings their own rhythm, challenges, and strengths.
My dream of becoming a teacher actually started very early. When other kids didn’t enjoy doing homework, I strangely loved creating questions for others. Looking back, it feels like a quiet sign of what I would one day become.
I still clearly remember my very first student. She was Japanese, and at that time, I was a nervous beginner teacher. I’m deeply grateful for the patience she showed me. Even many years later, that experience still fills me with gratitude and reminds me why I chose this profession. It also shaped one of my strongest beliefs: learning Chinese is not a solo journey — it’s a shared journey of growth between the teacher and the student.
I truly love being a Chinese teacher. This work has allowed me to see a wider world, make friends from different cultures, and better understand how people connect through language. No matter how different we are, I’ve always believed that communication and sincerity are the bridges that help us grow together.
In my teaching, I use a variety of methods because I strongly believe in teaching according to each student’s needs. This belief comes from teaching learners from many backgrounds, and also from my own experience as a language learner. I’ve faced frustration and self-doubt while learning foreign languages myself, and those moments help me teach with more patience and understanding.
I’ve never thought about stopping this teaching journey. Whether it was during the difficult early days as a new teacher, or around 2020, when the world changed and people couldn’t go out, I always tried to find ways to stay connected and close to my students.
I’m also a language lover. I speak English, Japanese, and a little Thai, so I understand what it feels like to learn a new language step by step.
If you’re interested in learning Chinese and exploring the language in a meaningful and supportive way, welcome to my world.
